The Town of Cohasset is partnering with NASA and Cohasset Public Schools for an unprecedented educational opportunity. On Wednesday, May 24, at 2 p.m., several Cohasset Public School students will have the opportunity to ask questions of NASA Astronaut Stephen G. Bowen (Captain, U.S. Navy, Ret.) while he is in space.
The live event will be streamed for all students to watch. For public viewing, the event will be live streamed on the Cohasset Live Streaming Facebook page which can be accessed by clicking here or by typing in facebook.com/cohassetlivestreaming.
Astronaut Bowen was born in Cohasset in 1964 and graduated from Cohasset High School in 1982. According to NASA, Astronaut Bowen has logged more than 40 days in space including 47 hours and 18 minutes in seven spacewalks and most recently launched to the International Space Station as Commander of NASA’s SpaceX Crew-6 mission in March.
More information will be forthcoming. Wednesday’s date is dependent upon the successful launch of the Axiom-2 launch on Sunday, May 21. If that launch is delayed, the event will be moved to Tuesday, May 23, at 12:15 p.m.
