Description
Yet another round of wind and rain is making getting around Friday morning difficult, but the weather is expected to peak along the South Shore within the next few hours before moving out by early afternoon, according to the National Weather Service.
When will the rain, wind be done today?
The National Weather Service said rain, fog and possibly thunderstorms will continue through Friday morning before tapering into the afternoon with a period of possible intermittent showers to follow.
The area continues to be breezy, with a south wind 22 to 25 mph and gusts as high as 48 mph, according to the agency. A wind advisory remains in effect for the area until 2 p.m., and a coastal gale warning will continue until 8 p.m.
The Nation Weather Service estimates rainfall totals will be between a half and three-quarters of an inch.
"Due to weather, delays are expected," Massport posted to its Logan Airport website. "Passengers are advised to check with their airline on the status of their flight before coming to the airport."
A check of multiple flights arriving and leaving from Logan Tuesday morning showed very few impacts on flight times from the weather.
Both National Grid and Eversource customers have been overwhelmingly unaffected by the weather.
Neither Plymouth nor Norfolk counties are under a flood advisory, although Franklin, Hampden and Hampshire in the western part of the state are under a flood advisory under 11:30 Friday morning.
