KINGSTON − You can't just drop the kids off at the Kingston Carnival anymore.

Fiesta Shows has issued a policy for minors that addresses some of the issues that led to its carnival in Weymouth being closed for the last two days of its run following fights that led to one arrest and created issues with crowd disbursement following the incident.

Fiesta also operates the Kingston Carnival, which starts tonight and is scheduled to run through the weekend.

The details section for the Kingston Carnival on Fiesta's website lays out the new rules under the policy, most of which have to do with underage children attending and the right to eject unruly attendees.

More specifically, the policy requires all children between 13 and 17 to be accompanied by a parent or chaperone over 21, who will be held responsible for anyone in their care. Each adult, who the policy states must remain with the minors, can only chaperone a maximum of four children at a time.

Fiesta said valid proof of age may be required, with the company saying the requirement "will be enforced in order to both obtain entry and also remain at the event.

"Failure to comply will result in being denied initial admission or ejection from the event," Fiesta says on its site. "There are no exceptions. No refunds will be given if you are ejected from the event."

The brouhaha in Weymouth led to the arrest of an 18-year-old man from Brockton and a criminal complaint being issued to a juvenile. A woman was taken to the hospital to be treated for minor injuries she suffered at the carnival when fights broke out near the entrance gate.

On its Facebook page, Fiesta Shows described the incident as "an unprecedented occurrence" and said their carnivals regularly maintain a strong police and security presence.

A call and email sent to the company Thursday were not immediately returned.

Some of the company's most well-known event include the Topsfield and Marshfield Fairs.
